Biography

Jaider is a master’s student in the program of German Studies. He earned previous MA in Linguistics from Purdue University in Indiana in 2023. He moved to Illinois to pursue his interests in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures at UIUC.

Jaider has previously been awarded with DAAD summer course scholarships to study German in Magdeburg, Bonn and Berlin. He was part of the Young Ambassador’s Program from DAAD in Colombia, where he helped to promote study of German and scholarship programs to university students in his home country.

Research Interests

Jaider did his first MA in Linguistics with a concentration in German, where he focused on historical linguistics, aspect of German History, Phonetics and Syntax of German. His linguistics thesis researched the system of intensifiers in Corpus of Middle High German. Currently, he is interested in German Medieval literature and he is hoping to combine his linguistics research to explore aspects of language in ancient texts.
