Biography
During her studies at the University of Vienna (German/English Studies), Alexandra Pfefferle gathered valuable experience as Assistant for the Austria-Illinois Exchange Program. After completing her studies in Vienna, including a semester at the Lomonossow State University in Moscow, she finished her MA in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and continued in its PhD Program. During her doctoral studies, she taught for two years at UIUC. She offered courses and conducted research for two additional years at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität in Germany. Dr. Pfefferle’s dissertation on Contemporary Austrian Literature, “Geschichte(n) in globalisierten ZeitRäumen. Österreichische Romane nach 2000” was published in 2019. Her research areas include Globalization, Migration & Transcultural Exchange, Newer Austrian and German Literature/Film.
