The Holocaust on Film

GER 261
Holocaust on Film

We investigate literary and filmic representations of the Holocaust. While a single course cannot do justice to this complex topic, we read four novels and screen five films concerning cultural representations of victims and perpetrators, and Holocaust denial and documentation. Please note that you are required to read regularly and to attend screenings. Class discussion is important to our study. Class consists of screenings discussions, formal weekly online responses, and two exams.
